Inspired by nature, or more precisely by the ginkgo tree, our ginkgo leaf jewellery line was created.
The ginkgo tree is a very special tree and botanists believe that it has been around for over 300 million years. Charles Darwin even described it as a ‘living fossil’. It can grow up to 40 metres tall and there are specimens that are up to 4000 years old. It became extinct in Europe during the Ice Age and then settled in warmer Asia, where it can still be found today. But it can also still be found in Europe today. It is known by various names such as duck foot, elephant ear tree, white fruit, soulful egg, thousand-thaler tree, etc.
The ginkgo tree is considered to be particularly adaptable and robust. It is also known as the ‘Miracle of Hiroshima’. One year after the first atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, a shoot of a ginkgo tree grew 800 metres away from the detonation centre.
Here you will find rings and pendants decorated with the filigree image of a ginkgo leaf. The ring in which the ginkgo leaf flows smoothly into the ring band is particularly beautiful. The ginkgo leaf symbolises hope, friendship and invincibility.
